I have always enjoyed lists and collecting. Besides fishing, I am an avid birder with a Southern African list in excess of 700 species. I began to wonder if it was possible to chase fish species in the same way that one chases bird species and so this challenge was born. To catch 100 saltwater species in Southern Africa from either the rocks or the surf, no boats, no snorkelling  and no freshwater species. I have set myself a 10 year period in which to do this, hopefully I can achieve it sooner. The purpose of this blog is to document the journey. I trust you enjoy it as much as I am!
