This journey of pursuing 100 saltwater species has been tougher than I thought. Because I am travelling from inland I am stuck with whatever weather is presented and when I can afford to take the time off.

I have 12 days at the end of May on the KZN North Coast to try and put another dent in the list. I have resorted to using local guides and fishermen to give me a boost. I will be spending a morning with Zoof from ZoofFishing on YouTube over this time and I am hoping to catch up with a few of the more specific dropshot and slow-pitch jig species.

I am not at all sure about the North Coast in Autumn. It feels as though the summer fish are gone and the winter fish have not yet moved in. Its all a little tricky.

I am hoping to spend a couple of nights at Tugela Mouth and try catch up with a Lobotes (triple-tail). It is a very good time for them. Im not sure if the inedibles will still be around but a couple of shark species along with a couple of flatfish would be great. If I could leave Tugela Mouth with 5 species that would be perfect.

I am also planning on taking a walk to Seola Point and to Nonoti during this time. I will also try the pantry at Tinley Manor for a a few tougher edible species like the two rockcod species, a spadefish and perhaps a cave bass.

Iti Bay might also be a great destination as in the past I have managed many good fish here.

All in all my target list looks as follows:

1. Lobotes

2. Giant Guitarfish

3. Spinner Shark

4. Ragged-tooth Shark

5. Brown Skate

6. Diamond Ray

7. Bull Shark

8. Blue Ray

9. Springer

10. Nondi

11. Black-tip Kingfish

12. Brassy Kingfish

13. Big-eye Kingfish

14. Karanteen

15. Cape Moony

16. Barred Flagtail

17. Square-tailed Kob

18. Spade-fish

19. Yellow-bellied Rockcod

20. Cat-faced Rockcod

21. Garrick

22. Grey Shark

23. Stonebream

24. Pinky
