Tiny Town at Mbotyi

So after much planning and anticipation, we headed down to Mbotyi last month to try and catch up with some of the Wild Coast specials. However, living in Jozi and travelling down a week at a time to the coast has its serious pitfalls. The wind absolutely howled for the majority of the trip. We tried an evening at Poenskop at Port St Johns and only caught Leopard Morays. The rest of the time at Mbotyi was either spent getting blown off the rocks or fishing the estuary. A little frustrating to say the least but I am beginning to think a Wild Coast visit in summer might be way more productive.

The species I caught this trip were Leopard Moray, Longspine Glassy, Spotted Grunter, Bronze Bream, Shad, Lesser Sandshark, Natal Stumpnose, Cape Stumpnose, Thornfish and Dusky Kob.
